Our origin story

CEO & Founder: Erica Anne Love, PhD

Living most of her life with a rare and life-threatening health condition and the day-to-day realities of physical disability, Erica Anne Love made the bold decision to walk away from an executive leadership role and a six-figure salary to protect her physical and mental well-being. She believed there had to be a different way to “do work”—one that centers human well-being, not just productivity.

Driven by this conviction, Erica launched her own company to challenge outdated business models, ignite more conscious ways of being, and support those ready to lead and live on new terms. Her company, BeCourageous Leadership, reflects both her personal commitment to showing up with courage each day and her belief that courageous leadership is essential to reimagining the future of work—and the future of our world.

Erica leads with purpose, grounded in the power of connection and guided by a vision of a more compassionate and conscious world—one we can only build together.

Erica Anne Love, PhD

CEO & Founder

I am a future of work strategist, accessibility advocate, trailblazer, team-builder, and change catalyst. I help organizations anticipate and shape the evolving landscape of work, learning, and community by designing environments where all people can contribute, belong, and thrive.

Drawing on expertise in workforce development, organizational learning, leadership, and accessibility, I partner with leaders to create agile, sustainable, and human-centered systems that respond to changing workforce needs while expanding opportunity and participation. My work leverages emerging trends in talent, technology, workplace practices, and inclusive design to help organizations build cultures and experiences that work for a broader range of people.

My approach is grounded in a deep understanding of human motivation, learning, and belonging. Through both professional expertise and lived experience, I help organizations move beyond compliance-based thinking to create workplaces, learning environments, and community spaces that are truly welcoming, accessible, and engaging.

Known for my optimism, curiosity, and ability to connect people and ideas, I help leaders navigate complexity, foster innovation, and build cultures where individuals, teams, and communities can do their best work together.

Meet Saundra

Saundra Trujillo, PhD

BCL Consultant

I work at the intersection of community, justice, and workforce transformation. As a criminologist and digital credentialing expert, I help employers, educators, and policymakers build skills-based systems that truly work—for people and for communities. As co-author of the Digital Credentials Playbook, I support national efforts to design and implement meaningful, validated microcredentials and Learning and Employment Records (LERs) that promote equity, build trust, and open real-world opportunities.
